SHREWSBURY MAGICIAN – PAST EVENTS
I’ve performed at lot across Shropshire, so there are too many events to mention, but if you want to find out about some of my past events here’s a few that stand out.
As you may have seen from the rest of this page I have performed many times at Rowton Castle, which is just outside of Shrewsbury, in Halfway House.
It’s a fantastic venue, and the perfect setting for a wedding. Close up magic at a wedding is a great idea. It gets everyone laughing together, sharing a unique special moment, and turns your whole day into a celebration.
Sidenote: every time I’ve performed my close up magic there, I’ve always been impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff too.

Why is hiring a close up magician in Shrewsbury, such a great idea?
Well, for me, the answer is clear. A magician doesn’t only perform incredible magic, they also interact with people to bring an event to life. That is exactly what I did for this Alice in Wonderland themed family party, at Albright Hussey Manor.
This a theme where magic fits perfectly. Think of the Mad Hatter, the disappearing Cheshire Cat, and the “impossible” reality Alice discovers. My brief was to ensure everyone spent an unforgettable time laughing together and screaming, “No way! Do that again!”
Some magician shy away from family events, but I think they bring people together! I performed mix-and-mingle close up magic for both the adults and the children, followed by a show for the entire group. Ultimately, a party is about having an amazing time with those closest to you.

As a professional close up magician, I meet a lot of people! A friend recently asked me if anyone ever really stood out?
The answer takes me back to the Peach Tree Restaurant in Shrewsbury where I performed close up, and a short cabaret act for a Christmas Party. I invited one of the guests to help me with one of the tricks, but during the trick, she kept turning away and covering her face.
I was worried she was nervous, but when I asked if she was OK. She said, “Yes. You just make me laugh so much!”
She later told me we shared the exact same sense of humour. And to me, that is the ultimate compliment!
People often call the magic “impressive,” but for me, it’s the personal connection that matters most. As I explain to the magicians I mentor: people are more interested in people than things.
They may not remember every trick, but they will remember how you made them feel. That’s my goal – to use my magic, mind reading, and comedy as a way to provide you with lasting stories and memories of an incredible event!

This was another Christmas Event. For this one, I was invited to perform close up magic during the Christmas Mess Ball at RAF Shawbury, near Shrewsbury, entertaining officers and guests during the drinks reception and between courses.
This events are often similar to corporate events with a mix of welcome magic on arrival, followed by table to table.
I performed incredible magic with cards, coins and borrowed objects, creating a short personal performance for each group.
I always enjoy being a part of Christmas parties and celebrations. And military / mess events are a great setting for a close up magician.
It gives guests something memorable to experience together while the evening flows naturally. It was a pleasure to be part of the celebration and to entertain everyone.
