Exclusive Summer Wedding Magic at The Oak Tree of Peover
Summer celebrations in the Cheshire countryside have a distinct elegance, and this sunshine-filled wedding at The Oak Tree of Peover was no exception. Located in Lower Peover, just outside Knutsford and Alderley Edge, the venue’s stunning oak-framed hall and surrounding manicured grounds created the perfect backdrop for a relaxed drinks reception out on the terrace.
But as is typical while formal photos were taking place, there was that classic quiet lull where guests were waiting around.
That’s where I come in! My role during the afternoon was to bridge that gap naturally. Rather than putting on a rigid, formal performance, I mixed with groups who naturally gathered on the lawn. After introducing myself, I wowed them with interactive close up magic and mind reading right in their hands.
And because my style is built on real-time, improvised comedy and conversation, the magic is able to adapt to the energy of each group, sparking sudden bursts of laughter, spontaneous gasps of astonishment, or even just an easy conversation with some guests.
It kept the atmosphere electric, brought different circles of family and friends together instantly, and allowed the couple to focus on their photos knowing their guests were completely engaged.

Cheshire Wedding Magician, for any Season!
While spring and summer are of course, the prime wedding months, winter celebrations have a distinct charm of their own. Just a few days before Christmas, I performed at Crewe Hall for a wonderful winter wedding. The venue was dressed spectacularly, but as is often the case between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast, there was that classic quiet lull where guests were waiting around.
As the main wedding entertainment, that day, my role was to jump into that window with interactive, conversational magic. Instead of imposing a rigid routine (that’s not my style), I mingled naturally with groups to break the ice and build live, in person, rapport. Leaning into spontaneous banter turned that potential downtime into sudden fits of shared laughter and genuine surprise. To top off the afternoon, a light dusting of snow fell just as I loaded my car. Ah! Perfect festive timing! Chris Rea all the way home!
The real test of any performance is, of course, the impression left behind. Shortly after, Crewe Hall recommended me to a client for a corporate event early the following year. There is no better compliment than a venue referral, and returning to Crewe Hall a few months later was a great reminder of how adaptable live magic is across totally different events.

Cocktail Style Magic and a Show at a Chester Awards Night
The start of a corporate event can sometimes feel a bit formal while guests arrive, grab a drink, and find their footing. Performing “cocktail style” magic – walking around during pre-dinner drinks eliminates those awkward initial pauses and sets an upbeat tone right away.
For a corporate awards event at a city centre hotel in Chester, this client needed full coverage for a larger room. Because I regularly collaborate with trusted performers across the UK, I put together and managed a small team of close up magicians so every guest experienced the same high impact, high energy interaction that I’m well known for.
Once dinner wrapped up, I transitioned from table magic to the main stage for a short 15-minute showcase show. Moving from intimate conversational magic to a crowd-led stage show got the entire room engaged and energised right before the first award was announced.

Most weekends, you’ll find me in a suit performing close up magic to packed function rooms, corporate galas, or high-energy wedding receptions.
But magic isn’t just built for grand venues or crowds of hundreds, it is fundamentally about human connection, and sometimes the smallest “events” yield the most unforgettable moments.
Just recently, I met up with a group of six friends gathered at the Flat Earth Pub. Opera Grill in Chester is known for its grand, lively atmosphere, making it a spectacular venue for private parties. For this milestone birthday celebration, the host wanted to offer their close group of family and friends an extra layer of entertainment during a private celebratory evening.
Enter me! Performing in a stylish, high-energy restaurant and bar environment requires a completely flexible approach. While guests enjoyed drinks and canapés, I performed interactive mind reading and magic which bought out squeals of laughter and amazement.
