Awards Night Entertainment in Chester
One of the more popular places where I’m hired as a close up magician is to provide walkaround magic during the start of events. This a great idea as guests arrive, settle in, and a grab a drink. It’s those few potentially awkward waiting around moments, pre-dinner. I call this performing cocktail style.
That was the case for this corporate awards event at a city centre hotel in Chester where I was asked to arrange a small team of close up magicians to welcome guests.
Larger events are never a problem, as I’m well connected within the magic industry and can organise and book other trusted professionals.
At this event I was also asked to stay on and perform after dinner too with a 15 minute slice of my showcase stage show. This is a great option and a fantastic way to lead into the first award.

Cheshire Festival Magic
I just had to share this feedback from an event in Chester. Festivals are one of my favourite types of events to perform at.
There’s always lots of people to meet, and often visitors don’t know that a magician is going to be part of the day.
On this occasion, I had a stage that was part of an indoor street food market, so not only did I have to perform incredible magic, but I had to grab people’s attention too.
I think the natural conversation way that I interact with people really helped here.

Winter Wedding Entertainment at Crewe Hall
While Spring and Summer weddings are always popular, I’ve seen an increase in Winter weddings recently. This event at Crewe Hall, took place just a few days before Christmas, and the venue was very beautifully decorated.
The guests were in the mood for a good time, to celebrate the marriage of their friends, and I was there to provide magic during that quieter moment post-ceremony.
I really enjoyed meeting everyone and to top it off it snowed just as I was leaving. Fortunately it was only ‘icing sugar’ snow, so I was able to get home safely!
And as a bonus, I was later recommended by the venue for a corporate event early the following year. I always think that referrals and recommendations are the perfect sign I must be doing something right! And so was back at Crewe Hall again, albeit in slightly better weather.
