Ed is hands down THE BEST magician in London. He provided magic and comedy at our Christmas event and we’re still talking about him months later. It’s April, and I’m about to book him again for this year.
LONDON MAGICIAN EVENTS
Here’s some of the events I perform at as a close up magician in London.
Corporate Hospitality
There are hundreds of events taking place across London every day. Some will be successful, some less so. Hiring a close up magician is a great way to make sure your event falls in that first category.
Why? Well, a quality close up magician is a people person. They instinctively know how to get the best out of people. At least, that’s the case with my performances.
I read the room, interact with guests and work from conversation, rather than a static script. My performances mix incredible jaw dropping magic and mind reading with improvised comedy, and personable interactions with guests.
So whether you are hosting clients in a Mayfair boardroom, hosting a networking event in Bloomsbury, or holding a celebration in a private space overlooking the Thames, get in touch today and let’s make sure your next event is one to remember!
I’m a regular close up magician at corporate events in London and understand what it takes to provide excellent service. Here’s just some of the recent venues I’ve performed at:
- The Science Museum, South Kensington
- The Shard, St. Thomas Street
- The Roundhouse, Camden
- Guinness Open Gate Brewery, Covent Garden
- The Brewery, Moorgate
Exclusive Celebrations
The right entertainment is the heartbeat of the evening, and hiring me as a close up magician means you’ll be adding a one of kind experience to your celebration.
My approach to close up magic has been refined over the past 20 years and 1000’s of performances, and is unique among magicians.
My performances are conversational and adaptive. I don’t rely on a static script, tired jokes, or generic “patter.” Instead, I read the room in real time, weaving improvised comedy in with my jaw dropping sleight of hand magic, and mind shattering mentalism.
Whether you are hosting an intimate dinner in the city, a cocktail reception in a private suite, or an expansive garden party at a private residence in one of London’s premier postcodes, I create the stories you’ll be sharing for years to come.
I am a regular performer for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and other celebrations at some of London’s most prestigious event spaces and private members’ clubs. I understand the discretion and professionalism required at world class venues such as:
- Claridge’s, Mayfair
- The Savoy, The Strand
- Royal Lancaster Hotel, Hyde Park
- The Ned, London
- Home House, Marylebone
Product Launches
These days word of mouth really means online shares. That’s why a Central London product launch needs a “wow” factor that guests want to capture and share.
Close up magic is perfect for this. Whether it’s street magic, a store opening, or in store promotions, my magic helps people to connect over an impossible experience.
Plus, I can even create bespoke magic tailored to your product or service, ensuring that the first time your audience sees it the experience is literally a miracle.
I’ve worked with companies such as Selfridges, Bentley, Heineken, Boojum, and Domino’s, and I would love for you to be next.
Exhibitions
Both ExCeL London and Olympia are vast environments where the need to capturing the attention of visitors requires more than just a well designed stand. You also need a proactive way to turn passersby into a captivated audience.
That’s where I come in. As an experienced trade show and exhibitions magician, I act not only as a professional crowd puller, but also as a way to warm up the crowd that I attract.
I’m able to integrate your key messages into my performances so that they are delivered in a way that is both memorable and shareable.
And when combined with out of this world magic, your brand becomes impossible to forget!
LONDON MAGICIAN – PAST EVENTS
Here are a few events of note, as a close up magician in London.
London Corporate Hospitality Entertainment
At the recent Healthcare Design Awards night in the heart of the city, I was brought in to perform during the initial champagne reception. This is a critical time period, and a great time to hire a close up magician. Guests are arriving, networking is in full swing, and my job is to connect people and make introductions, shift the focus from work to enjoyment, and build excitement for the night, all without interrupting the flow of guests conversations.
I specialise in strolling or walkaround magic, a type of entertainment that is perfect for these environments. I weave through the group, performing impossible magic with cards, coins, mobile phones, borrowed (and returned) objects, and can include incredible mind reading too. And everything is presented in my inimitable style of improvised, conversational comedy.
For some events I’m also asked to provide table to table magic during dinner, but at this recent event, I was done for the night and was able to take the tube home for an early-ish night.
Here’s a review I received of the event:

Ed has a really special gift! He managed to weave incredible magic into our event and made it look easy. I think everyone took something positive from the night, and Ed really helped to get the night off to a great start.
Exclusive Party Reaches the Highest Point
This wasn’t an event for those who are scared of heights! In 2019 I performed at the GŎNG Bar at The Shard, London. The bar is located 52 floors up. The highest hotel bar in Western Europe in the tallest building in the UK. Yes, the views from up there are incredible.
Fortunately, guests were also enthusiastic about getting involved with the entertainment. I mixed with guests wowing them with my sharp sleight of hand, impossible close up magic, and unbelievable mind reading. And, of course, this was all presented through my unparalleled style of conversational comedy.
This was an exclusive private event for the birthday of the client’s wife. On important occasions such as this, I always remind myself that these are the events people will look back on for the rest of their life. That’s why I work hard to create the stories you’ll remember and share later and for many years to come.
Close up Magician for London Wedding
With thousands of weddings taking place across the capital every year, I’ve had the privilege of performing at a vast array of celebrations across hundreds of stunning locations.
Not everyone thinks immediately of close up magic for their wedding, and I often talk to couples who tell me that their only entertainment plans are music for the evening. That works sometimes, other times it’s a mistake. Weddings are a long day, and you probably don’t want your guests to feel like they are waiting around.
Those who hire me as a close up magician want their whole day to feel like one big celebration. My close up magic brings people together, and means sharing comedy, conversation and incredible memories with those closest to you.
I’ve also learned that no two London weddings are exactly the same. There’s a lot of difference between entertaining at an intimate reception at The Chesterfield in Mayfair, a chic celebration at No.11 Cavendish Square, or a grand, high energy party at The London Cabaret Collective. Whatever your plans are for your wedding get in touch and I’ll explain what I do and how I can help bring your wedding to life.
And finally, here’s just one comment received after a recent London wedding:

Ed performed at our wedding and he was great. Our guests loved him and his closing trick with us still has us baffled! Ed was very professional and informative from when we first spoke to him. I would definitely recommend him to any other wedding.
Magic Circle Magician in London
Performing at The Magic Circle’s headquarters on Stephenson Way in Euston is one of the pinnacles of a magician’s career.
Recently, I was invited to perform at one of their showcase evenings – a public variety show, in the main theatre.
While I’m normally known as a close up magician for events in London, this was a great opportunity to bring my stage show to the capital. I performed a 10 minute slot alongside a cast of other top professional magicians in London.
My style of playful conversation and comedy doesn’t change when I perform on a larger scale, but I do scale up from magic with playing cards and coins to routines that can reach the very back row and still feel personal to those watching.
Stage magic is a skill not every magician has, and it certainly requires a bit more logistics, but for the right events I’m more than happy to include this alongside my close up magic.
