Well, consider the idea of dinner and a show! It's a classic for a reason. You don't want to just eat and leave. If you can stretch the experience into the night you get to spend more time with those whose company you enjoy the most.
There's a word for it in Spanish - sobremesa - it's that stretching of time after a meal as you laugh, chat and enjoy each other's company. It's relaxed, unhurried. After all how you eat is as important as what you eat.

AFTER DINNER ENTERTAIMENT OPTIONS
The best after dinner entertainment for you depends on how many guests you have to entertain. As a magician, I can provide entertainment in various formats. It's worth getting in touch for a quick chat about your event so I can provide some free advice and a few recommendations. But here's some initial information to get you started.
STAGE MAGIC
If you have a larger number of guests such as for an awards night, or fundraiser, then a stage magic show is the perfect after dinner entertainment. It includes impossible magic and unbelievable mind reading that is really able to bring the large scale wow factor to your event. All presented in a light hearted manner for between 50 and 500 guests.
Fair warning! The video below includes swearing (not by me, but by the shocked audience!) I guess, that's the sort of effect magic has on people! It creates an immediate reaction of amazement and laughter.
PARLOUR MAGIC
Parlour magic involves an exclusive group performance in the comfort of your own home, or in a hired space. It's larger that close up magic, but smaller than stage magic. Usually the performance is for 30 to 50 guests.
At home it was traditional to host this type of performance in "the parlour." For a hired space, I've found that a private dinning room is the best alternative space.
CLOSE UP MAGIC
Close up magic is a fantastic choice for any event! It can take place at people's table (aka table magic) or as walkaround entertainment. It can be performed after a larger performance to the whole group, or you could choose to have only close up magic. Most of the time close up magic is at the start of the event, rather than as after dinner entertainment. However, I am sometimes asked to meet people in the bar after dinner and entertain them in a very relaxed situation. This is a great alternative for those who want to take a break from any music entertainment, eg a disco or live band.

After Dinner Cabaret Magic Show Entertainment
A magic case study
My cabaret magic show is fantastic entertainment for after dinner. It's a wonderful way to pull focus back to the stage, and bring people together through a shared experience. That's exactly what happened at a recent golf club celebration, where I was asked to provide my cabaret show as the evenings entertainment.
On this occasion, I was also asked to provide some close up magic to welcome guests before dinner, and that's a popular choice too. The advantage is that when I invite people to be part of the show, they feel more comfortable coming up on stage as we have met before.
At this event, there were about 200 guests, so I performed my stage magic show where items appear, disappear and animate, minds are read, and the whole audience experienced what it's like to be a magician when they all without knowing it, performed a trick of their own.
It was a really fun evening for me, and I know that when I'm having fun the audience are too. The best bit was hearing the laughter, and the reactions to my magic.
Afterwards, I stayed for 20 minutes or so, as some people wanted to speak to me. That's always a nice thing to do, as I get to thank my audience. Afterall, I couldn't be a magician, without an audience.
I was also really fortunate that there was a photographer there on the night, and later I was sent some great photos which show my magic in action.
